Our Planet and Paper
At Grays Harbor Paper, we hold the firm conviction that high-quality, competitively
priced paper products can be manufactured in harmony with the natural environment.
We live our conviction every day by making paper from recycled fibers using green
power and searching relentlessly for innovative ways to expand and improve our
waste reduction and recycling efforts.
Grays Harbor Paper and its employees are single-minded in their pursuit of ways
to use earth’s natural resources responsibly and reduce our carbon footprint..
In February 2005, Grays Harbor Paper was certified by Green-e for manufacturing with renewable energy after adding a second electrical generator powered by renewable fuels. Grays Harbor Paper has also been commended by the Washington State Department of Ecology and the Olympic Region Clean Air Authority for their environmentally-friendly practices.
Papers manufactured at Grays Harbor Paper are produced with either virgin, 40 percent or 100 percent post-consumer materials, but all use the same green manufacturing process to keep the impact on forests and local communities low and to meet the needs of the bioregion.
